Obstacles

Well, Week 2 has definitely had some obstacles.
I made it through the weekend with flying colors, savoring every sip of my two glasses of wine on Saturday night.  I worked out Sunday and was thinking this might be the week I bust out of the 250's.
Then Monday arrived.  I had to take my mom to the ER because she was having severe pain (turned out ok!) and I was faced with my first obstacle: Vending Machines.  I know this seems silly, but I am *such* a sucker for junk food that comes out of a machine.  I was starving and so tempted to just give in the the voice saying, "it is an unusual circumstance, your diet takes the backseat!"  I didn't give in and ate a granola bar instead.  I was able to stay within my points for every day this week!
However, then my second obstacle arrived: I got sick too.
Being sick did not wreck my eating habits, but it did wreck my work out schedule.  There has been no Jillian Michaels in my life since Sunday.  I did however go walking today.
Overall, this week has just been a little off.  I didn't have the energy to plan or cook good meals.  I didn't have the energy to work out, but I still made such better choices than I would have 2 weeks ago.
I do not think tomorrow's weigh-in will be something to cheer about, but I am just hoping I didn't gain any weight!  Holding my breath until the morning.

1st Weigh In

252.9!
That is a loss of 5.7 pounds!  Yippee!  I've reached goal number 1 of losing 5 lbs, so I can get new sneakers this weekend!

I am very excited that I ate within my points for an entire week, exercised 3 times, and planned ahead for week 2.  I am a little hungry, a LOT of sore, and mucho proud of myself.

I am ready to tackle week 2!

New Nightmare=Jillian Michaels

Holy Crap.  Today I worked out the first time in a while.  I searched for home videos that I thought would work and that I could easily incorporate into my daughter's short 45 min. nap time frame.
I picked: Jillian Michaels "Ripped in 30" video.  (Disclaimer: I seriously doubt there will be any ripping in 30 days unless you count my overly tight workout pants).
I picked it because:
1. It is only 24 min.
2. It uses circuit training of 3 m. strength, 2 m. cardio, and 1 m. abs (repeated 3 times)
3. There are 4 completely different workouts on the DVD (I get bored easily)
4. I have some friends that vouched for it

After Day 1 or her Week 1 segment I can tell you that Jillian Michaels is serious about getting you ripped.  All of her exercises were truly hard, and I'm guessing that I will be repeating Week 1 before I move up to Week 2.  However, I LOVED the circuit aspect of it and the 24 m. flew by leaving me extremely sweaty.  I am hoping this will help keep me motivated!
Any other suggestion videos?
